Originally from Colorado, I was born and raised in a small-town nonexistent to most of my state. At nine years old, my mother introduced me to a sewing machine; butterfly skirts and blouses eventually turned into wool coats and dresses.
Sewing was a skill I carried into college, but one I never dreamed would go beyond my own home. As I finished my last semester at Grand Canyon University, I worked with professors to give sewing and style a higher purpose. It’s crazy to see a skill so small given such a higher purpose through Elroi & Men. Sometimes I can’t believe how God aligns childhood passions from so many people to do something larger than ourselves.
I recently obtained my degree in sports management from Grand Canyon University, I am a native Phoenician, and I am incapable of biting into an apple due to my two fake front teeth--let me know if you can tell. I’m a simple stats nerd who saw an opportunity to join a cause like I have never been part of before. My background is in statistics, business, and leadership. I wanted to be a part of Elroi & Men because of the fantastic vision I saw in our CEO/Founder Andrea Northup. She is a true inspiration, partnering with people whose chance for economic development is pressed constantly. True to the company’s vision, our goal is to break their glass ceiling.
Richard Younger moved from my hometown of Plymouth, Minnesota to the city of Phoenix in the hopes of finding adventure and new opportunities. During my time as a student at Grand Canyon University, I was able to connect with other business students that shared the same passions I did: traveling the world, building meaningful relationships, and finding a thrill in new experiences. These peers soon became some of my closest friends, and when asked to join the Elroi & Men’s team I knew it was an offer I could not refuse. I am excited to be part of a company that values people, desires to experience other cultures, and works to share God’s love with those around me.
With being a senior at Grand Canyon University, I am finishing my studies of Web Design and Business Management. I will be working with GCU’s student agency for the marketing department as an assistant graphic designer starting this fall. My passion for design is driven by my love for creating beautiful graphics and the ability to do so using modern day technology. I am excited to be a part of this amazing team of people working for such a great purpose and serving the Lakota community. A fun fact about me: I was born and raised in Colorado and I love the outdoors!
